Description
Oral history taken as part of the WPA. This short paper relates oral history from Guido, the son of a part owner of Chioldi Brothers Monumental Works in Vermont. He describes vacuuming granite powder off of a work in progress, and off of his clothes. They are fighting competition from other states, and promoting the superiority of Barre granite. He lists the old masters (including Abati) and relates an anecdote about Mussolini. Includes a recipe for grappa punch, ".. the best hot or cold punch you have ever tasted.”
